Based in the Dorset countryside, items are designed and handcrafted by me, Harriet. My creative influence has always been nature and the outdoors. I find the organic forms and textures of my surroundings impossible to ignore, whether I’m at the coast or in the countryside. As such, my jewellery designs are organic in their appearance, and include elements and concepts influenced by the natural world. Environmental consciousness is at the heart of Just Olive Jewellery and I am honest about my approach to working regarding the sustainability of my small business. Items are crafted with recycled silver and I source my materials from environmentally conscious, accredited UK suppliers. Using recycled silver is important for me because it reduces the need for new silver to be mined, in turn reducing the negative impact on our environment. Just Olive's sustainability journey is ongoing and I am always striving to ensure that my working practice is as environmentally responsible as possible. As an art teacher with a fine art background, I find the process of creating extremely therapeutic. When I began silversmithing, this feeling continued. To spend my time crafting meaningful treasures that individuals will cherish for years to come is hugely fulfilling.
